     He was educated at Inverness College, Inverness, Inverness-shire, Scotland^G.¹ He was educated at University College, Bangor, Caernarvonshire, Wales^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the British Army.¹ He fought in the First World War, in the Somme, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1917.¹

     Mary Summers Drew was born on 30 March 1889.² She was the daughter of Edward John Drew.¹ She married Creagh Ivor Massy, son of William Ludgate Massy and Annie Loney Maye, on 22 April 1920 at Poole, Dorset, England^G.¹ She died in May 1991 at age 102, without issue.²
     From 22 April 1920, her married name became Massy.¹ She lived in 1976 at 3 Park Sheen, London, England^G.¹

     Charles David Ludgate Massy was born in 1848 at Southampton, Hampshire, England.^2,3 He was the son of William Creagh Massy and Mary Ann Ludgate.¹ He married Mary Elizabeth Hybart, daughter of Frederick William Hybart and Mary Jane Jones, in March 1880.³
