     Katherine Kennedy was born on 23 May 1927.¹ She is the daughter of Captain Edward Coverley Kennedy and Rosalind Margaret Innes Grant.¹ She married Major Ion Melville Calvocoressi, son of Matthew John Calvocoressi and Agnes Hermione Melville, on 29 April 1947.¹
     From 29 April 1947, her married name became Calvocoressi.¹

     Major Ion Melville Calvocoressi was born on 12 April 1919 at Calcutta, India^G.² He was the son of Matthew John Calvocoressi and Agnes Hermione Melville.^1,3 He married Katherine Kennedy, daughter of Captain Edward Coverley Kennedy and Rosalind Margaret Innes Grant, on 29 April 1947.¹ He died on 7 July 2007 at age 88.⁴
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He fought in the Second World War, serving in Egypt, Italy and the Far East, and was wounded in 1942.² He was commissioned in 1940, in the service of the Scots Guards.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1942.^1,2 He gained the rank of Major in the Scots Guards.¹ He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.)¹ He was a stockbroker at London, England^G.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Kent between 1978 and 1979.²

     Matthew John Calvocoressi was born in 1873.² He married Agnes Hermione Melville, daughter of Hon. Robert Melville, in 1908.³ He died in 1939.²
