     Sir Alan Lewis Wigan, 5th Bt. was born on 19 November 1913.¹ He is the son of Sir Roderick Grey Wigan, 3rd Bt. and Hermina Mary Graham Wigan.^1,2 He married Robina Colquhoun, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Iain Colquhoun of Luss, 7th Bt. and Geraldine Bryde Dinah Tennant, on 26 October 1950.² He died on 3 May 1996 at age 82.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He fought in the Second World War in 1939, where he was wounded and became a POW.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.² He was director of Charrington & Company.¹ He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Wigan, of Clare Lawn, Mortlake, Surrey and Purland Chase, Ross, co.
