     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Artillery.¹

     Robert John Whitcombe was born on 28 November 1955.¹ He is the son of Philip Arthur Whitcombe and Hon. Rosemary Anne Heather Colville.² He married Sophie E. Roberts, daughter of T. O. Roberts, in 1988.¹

     Sophie E. Roberts is the daughter of T. O. Roberts.² She married Robert John Whitcombe, son of Philip Arthur Whitcombe and Hon. Rosemary Anne Heather Colville, in 1988.¹

     Susan Anne Clare Whitcombe was born in June 1957.¹ She is the daughter of Philip Arthur Whitcombe and Hon. Rosemary Anne Heather Colville.² She married Robin R. Marriott, son of Anthony Marriott, in 1985.¹
     From 1985, her married name became Marriott. She lived in 2003 at Park View Farm, Headley, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Robin R. Marriott is the son of Anthony Marriott.² He married Susan Anne Clare Whitcombe, daughter of Philip Arthur Whitcombe and Hon. Rosemary Anne Heather Colville, in 1985.¹

     Isobel Colville is the daughter of William Colville of Barnweill and Elizabeth Dunlop.¹

     Lt.-Col. Ernest Brabazon Booth was born on 23 July 1879.² He is the son of Brabazon Shiels Booth and Barbarina Elizabeth Wilson.² He married Marguerita Agnes Currie, daughter of John Currie, on 29 January 1919.²
     He was educated at Bedford School, Bedford, Bedfordshire, England^G.² He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1902 with a Bachelor of Medicine (M.B.)² He graduated in 1902 with a Bachelor of Surgery (B.Ch.)² He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G, in 1902 with a Bachelor of Art in Obstretics (B.A.O.)² He graduated in 1904 with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps.² He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1916, in the Cameroons.² He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1916.² He lived in 1958 at Darver Castle, Dundalk, County Louth, Ireland^G.²

     Joan Marguerita Booth was born on 28 October 1919.² She was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Ernest Brabazon Booth and Marguerita Agnes Currie.^3,2 She married Lt.-Col. Ronald John Bilsland Colville, 2nd Baron Clydesmuir, son of David John Colville, 1st Baron Clydesmuir and Agnes Anne Bilsland, on 10 April 1946.¹ She died on 9 July 2014 at age 94 at Whim Hall, Lamancha.⁴
     From 10 April 1946, her married name became Colville. After her marriage, Joan Marguerita Booth was styled as Baroness Clydesmuir on 31 October 1954.
