     Sarah Haughton James was born in 1775 at Hanover, Jamaica.2 She was the daughter of Colonel Montague James and Mary Haughton.1,2 She married Reverend Philip Castel Sherard, son of Reverend Castel Sherard and Jane Caryer, on 30 May 1796 at St. Marylebone, London, England.1,2 She died on 31 December 1835.2
     From 30 May 1796, her married name became Sherard.1
