     Hon. Jocelyn Cecil Vereker was born on 27 July 1913.¹ He was the son of Field Marshal John Standish Surtees Prendergast Vereker, 6th Viscount Gort, V.C. and Corinna Katherine Vereker.¹ He died on 29 May 1915 at age 1.¹

     Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort was born on 12 February 1888.¹ He was the son of John Gage Prendergast Vereker, 5th Viscount Gort and Eleanor Surtees.¹ He married Bessy Surtees, daughter of Aubone Alfred Surtees, on 11 June 1921.¹ He died in 1975, without issue.¹
     Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort usually went by his middle name of Robert.¹ He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England^G.¹ He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of officer in 1948 in the Royal Horse Artillery (Territorial Forces.)¹ He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and wounded three times.¹ He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)¹ He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Gort, co. Galway [I., 1816] on 31 March 1946.¹ He succeeded as the 7th Baron Kiltarton of Gort, co. Galway [I., 1810] on 31 March 1946.¹ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in 1948 in the 464 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery.¹ He was appointed Knight, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.St.J.)¹

     Bessy Surtees was the daughter of Aubone Alfred Surtees.¹ She married Standish Robert Gage Vereker, 7th Viscount Gort, son of John Gage Prendergast Vereker, 5th Viscount Gort and Eleanor Surtees, on 11 June 1921.¹ She died on 14 April 1972.¹
     From 11 June 1921, her married name became Vereker.¹ After her marriage, Bessy Surtees was styled as Viscountess Gort on 31 March 1946.

     Aubone Alfred Surtees was born on 2 October 1865.² He was the son of Alfred Wright Surtees and Henrietta Charlotte Robinson.² He died on 22 November 1923 at age 58.²
     He lived at Dinsdale Manor, County Durham, England^G.¹

     Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker was born on 21 June 1850.¹ He was the son of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage.¹ He married Ellen Amelia Wilshere, daughter of Reverend Henry Michael Mydleton Wilshere, on 25 March 1876.¹ He died on 24 October 1900 at age 50.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.¹ He was Naval Advisor to the Board of Trade.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Geographic Society (F.R.G.S.)¹

     Ellen Amelia Wilshere was the daughter of Reverend Henry Michael Mydleton Wilshere.¹ She married Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker, son of Standish Prendergast Vereker, 4th Viscount Gort and Hon. Caroline Harriet Gage, on 25 March 1876.¹ She died on 18 December 1943.¹
     From 25 March 1876, her married name became Vereker.¹

     Reverend Henry Michael Mydleton Wilshere was the Rector at Simons Town, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa^G.¹

     Standish Henry Prendergast Vereker was born on 12 November 1878.¹ He was the son of Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker and Ellen Amelia Wilshere.¹ He married Eleanor Elizabeth Bott, daughter of Henry Bott, on 25 March 1908.¹ He died on 27 January 1953 at age 74.¹
     He held the office of Resident to Nigeria.¹ He fought in the Boer War between 1900 and 1901, where he was mentioned in despatches and received a medal for distinguished conduct in the field.¹ He was Vice-Consul to Cherbourg between 1901 and 1904.¹ He fought in the First World War, attached to the British Forces in the Cameroons and Mounted Infantry.¹ He was awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal (D.C.M.)¹

     Eleanor Elizabeth Bott was the daughter of Henry Bott.² She married Standish Henry Prendergast Vereker, son of Captain Hon. Foley Charles Prendergast Vereker and Ellen Amelia Wilshere, on 25 March 1908.¹ She died on 28 July 1957.¹
     From 25 March 1908, her married name became Vereker.¹

     Daphne Eleanor Vereker was born on 2 September 1910.¹ She is the daughter of Standish Henry Prendergast Vereker and Eleanor Elizabeth Bott.¹ She married Commander Sydney Arthur Moorhouse Else, son of Captain unknown Else, on 3 August 1933.¹
     From 3 August 1933, her married name became Else.¹ She lived in 2003 at 139 Brook Gardens, Emsworth, Hampshire, England^G.¹
