     Robert McConnell was born on 23 January 1797.¹ He married, firstly, Margaret McKnight, daughter of James McKnight, on 26 March 1828.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Harvey, daughter of John Harvey, on 18 March 1847.² He died on 3 November 1850 at age 53.²
     He lived at Clougher, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     Margaret McKnight was the daughter of James McKnight.² She married Robert McConnell on 26 March 1828.¹ She died on 9 November 1846.¹
     Her married name became McConnell.

     Joseph McConnell was born on 9 January 1829.¹ He was the son of Robert McConnell and Margaret McKnight.² He married Elizabeth McBride, daughter of James McBride, on 24 December 1851.¹ He died on 17 May 1872 at age 43.³
     He lived at Clougher, County Antrim, Ireland^G.¹

     Elizabeth McBride was the daughter of James McBride.² She married Joseph McConnell, son of Robert McConnell and Margaret McKnight, on 24 December 1851.¹ She died on 23 July 1896.¹
     From 24 December 1851, her married name became McConnell.

     Sir Robert John McConnell, 1st Bt. was born on 6 February 1853.¹ He was the son of Joseph McConnell and Elizabeth McBride.² He married, firstly, Mary Elizabeth Smiley, daughter of Thomas Smiley, on 26 January 1874.¹ He married, secondly, Elsie Hewson, daughter of George Hewson, on 27 April 1897.³ He died on 22 April 1927 at age 74.³
     He held the office of Lord Mayor of Belfast in 1900.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Antrim.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of County Antrim.¹ He was created 1st Baronet McConnell, of the Moat, Strandtown, Belfast [U.K.] on 25 September 1900.¹
