     Hildegarde Marie Edle von Chavanne was born on 4 December 1901 at Ljubljana, Slovenia^G.¹ She was the daughter of Rudolf Edler von Chavanne and Maria Anna Künigl Gräfin zu Ehrenburg.¹ She married Rudolf Freiherr Steeb, son of Christian Freiherr Steeb and Maria Alexia Freiin Rauch de Nyék, on 6 May 1925 at St. Radegund bei Graz, Austria^G.¹ She died on 29 November 1988 at age 86 at Graz, Austria^G.¹
     From 6 May 1925, her married name became Steeb.¹
