He was given the name of Charles Shaw at birth.1 He was admitted to Lincoln’s Inn entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.1 His name was legally changed to Charles Shaw-Lefevre by Royal Licence.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Newtown, Isle of Wight between 1796 and 1802.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Reading between 1802 and 1820.1
