Hon. Katherine Anne Douglas was born on 26 July 1957.1 She is the daughter of Air Marshal William Sholto Douglas, 1st and last Baron Douglas of Kirtleside and Hazel Walker.1

Joseph Stanley Holmes, 1st and last Baron Dovercourt was born on 31 October 1878.1 He was the son of Horace G. Holmes.1 He married Eva Gertrude Bowley, daughter of Thomas Bowley, in 1905.1 He died on 22 April 1961 at age 82.1
He was educated at City of London School, London, EnglandG.1 He was registered as a Chartered Accountant in 1901.1 He held the office of Member of the London County Council between 1910 and 1919.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Derbyshire, North-East Division between 1918 and 1922.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Harwich between 1935 and 1954.1 He was chairman of the North-West Building Society.1 He was appointed Knight in 1945.1 He was created 1st Baron Dovercourt, of Harwich, co. Essex [U.K.] on 18 January 1954.1 He was awarded the Order of Merit of Chile.1
On his death, his barony became extinct.1
