He was educated at Borgue Academy, Kirkcudbrightshire, ScotlandG.1 He was educated at King’s College London, London, EnglandG.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for Kirkcaldy Burghs between 1892 and 1921.1 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1908.1 He was chairman and managing director of United Newspapers Ltd (Daliy Chronicle, Lloyd’s News and Reynold’s Newspaper.1) He was created 1st Baronet Dalziel [U.K.] on 25 January 1918.1 He was created 1st Baron Dalziel of Kirkcaldy, of Marylebone, London [U.K.] on 28 June 1921.1
