     James Foulis, Lord Colinton was the son of Sir Alexander Foulis of Colinton, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Hepburn.² He married, firstly, Barbara Ainslie, daughter of Andrew Ainslie.² He married, secondly, Margaret Erskine, daughter of Sir George Erskine of Innerteil, in 1661.¹ He died on 19 January 1688.²
     He was engaged in Scottish wars following the death of Charles I.² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Edinburgh [Scotland] between 1645 and 1684.² He held the office of a Lord of Session in 1661.² He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Foulis, of Colinton [N.S., 1634] circa 1672.² He held the office of Lord Justice Clerk in 1684.² He gained the title of Lord Colinton [Scottish Law Lord] in 1684.²

     Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall was the son of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine.¹ He married, secondly, Margaret Halyburton, daughter of James Halyburton of Keilour and Pitcar and Agnes Campbell.¹ He married, firstly, Mary Burnet, daughter of Alexander Burnet, on 28 April 1674.¹ He died on 4 January 1712.¹
     He lived at Prestonhall, Cranston, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹ He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland].¹ He was styled as Lord Prestonhall [Scottish Law Lord].¹

     Margaret Halyburton was born after 1649.² She was the daughter of James Halyburton of Keilour and Pitcar and Agnes Campbell.^1,2 She married, secondly, Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall, son of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine.¹ She married by contract, firstly, Sir George Mackenzie of Rosehaugh, son of Simon Mackenzie, 1st of Lochalyne and Elizabeth Bruce, on 4 January 1670.^1,2 She died in January 1713.¹
     From 4 January 1670, her married name became Mackenzie.¹

     James Halyburton of Keilour and Pitcar was the son of George Halyburton of Keilour.² He married Agnes Campbell, daughter of Gilbert Campbell of Keithock and Anna Bruce, after 9 February 1650.² He died before May 1667.²

     James Mackenzie was baptised on 8 October 1674 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was the son of Sir George Mackenzie of Rosehaugh and Margaret Halyburton.¹

     Mary Burnet is the daughter of Alexander Burnet.¹ She married Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall, son of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine, on 28 April 1674.¹
     From 28 April 1674, her married name became Mackenzie.¹

     Alexander Fraser of Fraserdale was the son of Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall and Mary Burnet.² He married Æmilia Fraser, daughter of Thomas Fraser of Lovat and Sibylla MacLeod.¹ He died on 3 June 1775.¹
     He was also known as Alexander Mackenzie.²

     Æmilia Fraser is the daughter of Thomas Fraser of Lovat and Sibylla MacLeod.² She married Alexander Fraser of Fraserdale, son of Roderick Mackenzie, Lord Prestonhall and Mary Burnet.¹

     Thomas Fraser of Lovat was born after 1627. He was the son of Hugh Fraser, 7th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Isabel Wemyss.^1,2 He married Sibylla MacLeod, daughter of Ian ‘Mor’ Macleod, 16th of MacLeod and Sybella Mackenzie, in April 1665.² He died in May 1699.¹
     He was also known as Thomas Fraser of Beaufort.² He succeeded as the 10th Lord Lovat [S., c. 1464] on 14 September 1696, de jure.¹ In 1698 his son Simon abducted Amelia’s mother and forced her to go through a form of marriage with him, for which his son was tried in absentia for high treason, outlawed and sentenced to death. He was found to be an accessory, and so was also found guilty of high treason.¹ He lived at Beaufort, Inverness-shire, Scotland.¹

     Sibylla MacLeod was the daughter of Ian ‘Mor’ Macleod, 16th of MacLeod and Sybella Mackenzie.^1,2 She married Thomas Fraser of Lovat, son of Hugh Fraser, 7th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Isabel Wemyss, in April 1665.² She died in June 1682.¹
     From April 1665, her married name became Fraser.
