     Edith Sartoris was born in 1852 at Southampton, Hampshire, England.² She was the daughter of Frederick Urban Sartoris and Mary Anne Pratt.^1,2 She married Alfred Eugene Craven, son of Charles Craven and Harrietta Streatfeild, on 20 July 1881.¹ She and Alfred Eugene Craven were divorced in 1897.¹
     From 20 July 1881, her married name became Craven.¹
