     He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.³ He was awarded the Croix de Guerre Belgian, avec palme.¹ He was awarded the Knight, Order of Leopold of Belgium with Palm.¹

     Marina von Wahl was the daughter of Wilhelm George Viktor von Wahl.¹ She married, firstly, Willie Gosse before 1946.¹ She married, secondly, Major Digby Colquitt Coventry, son of Fulwar Cecil Ashton Coventry and Lorna Mary Fellowes, in 1946.¹ She died on 2 January 1983.²
