     John Kendall Brooke was born on 31 March 1856 at Sibton Park, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He was the son of John William Brooke and Jemima Charlotte Brittain.¹ He married, firstly, Helen Beatrice Acton, daughter of Edward William Frederick Acton and Helen Maria Parker Ranney, on 18 April 1882 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ He married, secondly, Katherine Frances Heywood, daughter of Arthur Heywood and Frances Harriet Thompson, in 1901 at Plomesgate, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He died on 13 June 1939 at age 83 at Sibton Park, Suffolk, England^G.^1,2
     He was a practising barrister.¹ He held the office of Magistrate.¹
