Somerset [G.B., 1794] on 19 July 1930.3 He succeeded as the 7th Lord Clifden, Baron of Gowran, co. Kilkenny [I., 1776] on 19 July 1930.1 He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Clifden of Gowran, co. Kilkenny [I., 1781] on 19 July 1930.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.)2

Arthur Victor Agar-Robartes, 8th Viscount Clifden of Gowran1 
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Brasenose College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Grenadier Guards.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918, where he was wounded.2 He gained the rank of Acting Major in the Guards MG Regiment.2 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Clifden, Baron of Gowran, co. Kilkenny [I., 1776] on 15 July 1966.1 He succeeded as the 8th Baron Mendip of Mendip, co. Somerset [G.B., 1794] on 15 July 1966.3 He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Clifden of Gowran, co. Kilkenny [I., 1781] on 15 July 1966.1
On his death, all of his titles except the barony of Mendip became extinct.1

Margaret Carter was born in 1905 at U.S.A.2 She was the daughter of Ray Carter.1 She married, firstly, John Eaton Monins, son of John Henry Monins and Edith Julia Cobbold, in 1926 at St. Louis, Missouri, U.S.A.1,2 She married, secondly, John Harvey Thursby, son of Reverend Harvey William Gustavus Thursby and Margaret Emily Mount, in November 1940 at St. Mary’s Parish Church, Burghfield, Berkshire, England.1,2 She married, thirdly, Arthur Victor Agar-Robartes, 8th Viscount Clifden of Gowran, son of Thomas Charles Reginald Agar-Robartes, 6th Viscount Clifden of Gowran and Mary Dickenson, on 29 January 1948.1 She died in 1982.2
From 1926, her married name became Monins.1 From November 1940, her married name became Thursby.1 From 29 January 1948, her married name became Agar-Robartes.1 After her marriage, Margaret Carter was styled as Viscountess Clifden of Gowran on 15 July 1966.
