     Jean Murray was the daughter of John Murray, 1st Earl of Atholl and Jean Campbell.¹ She died in 1688.¹

     Lady Anne Murray was the daughter of John Murray, 1st Earl of Atholl and Jean Campbell.¹ A contract for the marriage of Lady Anne Murray and James Murray, 2nd Earl of Tullibardine was signed on 13 September 1664 at Blair Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland^G.¹ She died after 3 January 1665/66, without issue.¹
     After her marriage, Lady Anne Murray was styled as Countess of Tullibardine on 13 September 1664.

     James Murray, 2nd Earl of Tullibardine was baptised on 22 September 1617 at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England^G, with King James I of Great Britain and Countess of Salisbury as his godparent(s.)¹ He was the son of Patrick Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine and Elizabeth Dent.¹ He married, firstly, Lady Lilias Drummond, daughter of John Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth and Lady Jean Ker, on 3 June 1643 at Charlton, Kent, England^G.² He married by contract, secondly, Lady Anne Murray, daughter of John Murray, 1st Earl of Atholl and Jean Campbell, on 13 September 1664 at Blair Atholl, Perthshire, Scotland^G.² He married, thirdly, Lilias Drummond, daughter of Sir James Drummond, 2nd of Machany and Anne Hay, before 12 June 1668.² He died in January 1669/70 at age 52 at Tullibardine, Perthshire, Scotland^G, without surviving male issue.²
     He was styled as Lord Murray of Gask between 1628 and 1644.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel on 26 August 1643 in the Perthshire Regiment of Foot.¹ He was a Commissioner of War, Perthshire between 1644 and 1647.¹ He fought in the Battle of Tippermuir on 1 September 1644, where he commanded the centre.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Murray, Gask and Balquhidder [S., 1628] on 5 September 1644.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Tullibardine [S., 1628] on 5 September 1644.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Lord Murray of Tullibardine [S., 1604] on 5 September 1644.¹ He was a Member of the Committee of War on 10 January 1644/45.³ He held the office of Burgess of Glasgow on 24 April 1645.³ He fought in the Battle of Kilsyth on 15 August 1645, where he assisted Lt.-Gen. Baillie.³ He held the office of Sheriff Principal of Perthshire on 30 October 1646.³ He held the office of Constable and Steward of Huntingtower on 28 December 1649.³ He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh on 5 October 1660.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] on 13 February 1661.³ He held the office of Sheriff Principal of Perthshire on 13 February 1660/61.³ He fought in the action against the rebels in the Pentland Rising in November 1666, where he was in joint comand.² He gained the rank of Captain of the Horse on 29 April 1668 in the Perthshire Militia.²

     Lady Amelia Sophia Murray was born on 5 July 1780.¹ She was the daughter of John Murray, 4th Duke of Atholl and Hon. Jane Cathcart.² She was baptised on 21 July 1780 at Dunkeld, Perthshire, Scotland.¹ She married James Andrew John Laurence Charles Drummond, 6th Viscount Strathallan, son of Hon. William Drummond and Anne Nairn, on 18 January 1809.³ She died on 19 June 1849 at age 68.³
     Her married name became Drummond. After her marriage, Lady Amelia Sophia Murray was styled as Viscountess Strathallan on 17 June 1824.

     John Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth was born circa 1584.² He was the son of Patrick Drummond, 3rd Lord Drummond and Lady Elizabeth Lindsay.³ A contract for the marriage of John Drummond, 2nd Earl of Perth and Lady Jean Ker was signed on 28 August 1613.³ He died on 11 June 1662.¹
     He was educated at Dunblane Grammar School, Dunblane, Perthshire, Scotland.³ He was educated at Bordeaux University, Bordeaux, France^G.³ He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of Perth [S., 1605] on 8 December 1611.⁴ He succeeded as the 6th Lord Drummond [S., 1488] on 8 December 1611.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] in 1616.³ He was a Covenanter before 1638.³ He was Parliamentary Commissioner of War, perthshire.³ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Parliamentary Army.³ In 1654 he became a Royalist and was fined £5,000.³

     Patrick Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine was born before 16 April 1579.² He was the son of John Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine and Catherine Drummond.¹ He married, firstly, Prudence (?) before 18 January 1604.³ He married, secondly, Elizabeth Dent, daughter of John Dent and Alice Grant, between 1609 and 26 July 1613.³ He died on 5 September 1644 at Bury Green, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England^G.⁴ His will was proven (by probate) on 25 July 1645 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.⁴ He was buried on 7 September 1644 at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England^G.⁴
     He was appointed Knight Bachelor on 25 July 1603.² He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, on 30 August 1605 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)² He was admitted to Gray’s Inn on 6 March 1609/10.³ He held the office of Keeper of Theobalds Park in 1616/17.³ He held the office of Burgess of Edinburgh on 27 June 1617.³ He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Murray of Tullibardine [S., 1604] circa July 1627. He was created 1st Earl of Tullibardine [Scotland] on 30 January 1627/28, but with precedence of 1606.² He was created 1st Lord Murray, Gask and Balquhidder [Scotland] on 30 January 1627/28, but with precedence of 1606.³ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland] on 27 July 1630.³ He held the office of Hereditary Keeper of the Forest of Glenalmond on 23 September 1637.³ He fought in the First Bishop’s War in May 1639, where he was with the King at Durham and at Newcastle, where he sailed to join Hamilton at the Firth of Forth.³ He lived at Redcastle, Scotland^G.⁵ His last will was dated 30 August 1644.

     Elizabeth Dent was baptised on 18 October 1591 at St. Bartholomew’s Exchange, London, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of John Dent and Alice Grant.² She married, firstly, Sir Francis de Vere, son of Geoffrey de Vere and Elizabeth Hardkyn, before 1609.² She married, secondly, Patrick Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine, son of John Murray, 1st Earl of Tullibardine and Catherine Drummond, between 1609 and 26 July 1613.² She died circa February 1655/56. She was buried on 11 February 1655/56 at Cheshunt, Hertfordshire, England^G.¹ Her will (dated 1 February 1655/56) was proven (by probate) on 7 May 1656 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.¹
     From before 1609, her married name became de Vere.² From between 1609 and 26 July 1613, her married name became Murray. After her marriage, Elizabeth Dent was styled as Countess of Tullibardine on 30 January 1627/28.

     Joseph Grant was a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He lived at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland^G.¹

     John Dent married, secondly, Alice Grant, daughter of Christopher Grant.¹

     John Murray, Marquess of Tullibardine was born on 6 May 1684 at Kinneil, Scotland^G.¹ He was the son of John Murray, 1st Duke of Atholl and Lady Catherine Hamilton.¹ He died on 11 September 1709 [31 August 1709 O.S.] at age 25 at Malplaquet^G, killed in action, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Brussels, Belgium^G.¹
     He gained the title of Marquess of Tullibardine between 1703 and 1709.² He was educated on 22 January 1706 at University of Leyden, Leyden, The Netherlands^G.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the States of Holland.² He fought in the Battle of Oudenarde on 11 July 1708 [30 June 1708 O.S.].² He fought in the Battle of Malplaquet on 11 September 1709 [31 August 1709 O.S.].²
