     Walter Hugh Earle Welby was born on 19 August 1833.2 He is the son of Sir Glynne Earle Welby-Gregory, 3rd Bt. and Frances Cholmeley.1 He married, firstly, Frances Ollivant, daughter of Rt. Rev. Alfred Ollivant, on 1 October 1861.2 He married, secondly, Florence Laura Sloane Stanley, daughter of Reverend George Sloane Stanley, on 8 October 1878 at Branston, Lancashire, EnglandG.3 He died on 8 February 1912 at age 78.2
     He graduated from Corpus Christi College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He was Rector at Harston, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Leicestershire.2

     Mary Elizabeth Welby was the daughter of Sir Glynne Earle Welby-Gregory, 3rd Bt. and Frances Cholmeley.1 She married, firstly, John Richards Homfray on 22 March 1860.2 She married, secondly, Colonel George Shirley Maxwell on 13 November 1893.2 She died on 29 November 1919.
     From 22 March 1860, her married name became Homfray. From 13 November 1893, her married name became Maxwell.2

     Florence Laura Sloane Stanley was born circa 1841 at Compton Bassett, Wiltshire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of Reverend George Sloane Stanley.2 She married Walter Hugh Earle Welby, son of Sir Glynne Earle Welby-Gregory, 3rd Bt. and Frances Cholmeley, on 8 October 1878 at Branston, Lancashire, EnglandG.3 She died on 17 September 1913, without issue.3
     From 8 October 1878, her married name became Welby.
