Sir Benjamin James Chapman, 4th Bt.1 
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, in 1830 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He was a practising Barrister in 1835.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Westmeath between 1841 and 1847.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Chapman, of St. Lucy’s, co. Westmeath [I., 1782] on 17 May 1853.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Westmeath in 1856.1 He held the office of Custos Rotulorum of County Westmeath between 28 March 1883 and 1888.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of County Westmeath between 28 March 1883 and 1888.1
