     John Cherleton, 3rd Lord Cherleton was born circa 1336.1 He was the son of John Cherleton, 2nd Lord Cherleton and Maud de Mortimer.1 He married Lady Joan de Stafford, daughter of Ralph de Stafford, 1st Earl of Stafford and Margaret Audley, Baroness Audley.1 He died on 13 July 1374.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Lord Cherleton [E., 1313] in 1360.1 He succeeded as the Lord of Powis [feudal baron] in 1360.1
