He was commissioned in 1884, in the service of the Royal Engineers.2 He fought in the North-West Frontier in 1890.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.2 He was Deputy Director of Works, BEF between 1915 and 1916.2 He was Deputy Engineer-in-Command of the British Armies in France between 1916 and 1917.2 He was Chief Engineer of the 3 Army between 1917 and 1919.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.)1 He was Director of Fortifications and Works, War Office between 1920 and 1924.2 He was Director of Works and Building, Air Ministry between 1924 and 1928.2

He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, on 14 November 1740.1 He succeeded as the 6th Lord Lambart, Baron of Cavan, co. Cavan [I., 1618] on 10 March 1741.1 He succeeded as the 5th Earl of the County of Cavan [I., 1647] on 10 March 1741.1 He succeeded as the 5th Viscount Kilcoursie, in the King’s County [I., 1647] on 10 March 1741.1 He held the office of Grand Master of the Freemasons [Ireland] from 1767 to 1768.5 He held the office of Grand Master of the Freemasons [Ireland] between 1768 and 1769.

Elizabeth Wall was the daughter of James Wall and Mary Edgeworth.2,3 She married Ford Lambart, 5th Earl of the County of Cavan, son of Richard Lambart, 4th Earl of the County of Cavan and Margaret Trant, on 24 March 1741/42.1 She died on 4 October 1766 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1,3
After her marriage, Elizabeth Wall was styled as Countess of the County of Cavan on 24 March 1741/42. From 24 March 1741/42, her married name became Lambart.
