     Alan Cathcart, Master of Cathcart was born in 1562.1 He was the son of Alan Cathcart, 4th Lord Cathcart and Margaret Wallace.2 He married Isabel Kennedy, daughter of Thomas Kennedy of Bargeny, before 24 June 1594.1 He died on 15 May 1602.3 His will was proven (by probate) on 23 July 1603.4
     He was styled as Master of Cathcart in 1562.1
