     Maj.-Gen. Peter Daer Reid was born on 5 August 1925.¹ He is the son of Colonel Spence Daer Reid and Dorothy Hungerford Jackson.¹ He married Catherine Fleetwood Boodle, daughter of Wifred Andrew Carmichael Boodle, on 9 August 1958.¹
     He was educated at Cheltham College, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England^G.² He was educated at Wadham College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He was commissioned in 1945, in the service of the Coldstream Guards.¹ He was Commanding Officer of the Royal Dragoons between 1965 and 1968.² He was Commander of the 3rd Division, Royal Armoured Corps between 1974 and 1976.² He was Director of the Royal Armoured Corps between 1976 and 1978.² He was Chief Exececutive of Main Battle Tank 80 Project between 1979 and 1980.² He was Director of Armoured Warfare Studies in 1981.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1981.¹ He was defence advisor to GKN between 1983 and 1988.² He lived in 2003 at The Border House, Cholderton, Wiltshire, England^G.¹

     Catherine Fleetwood Boodle is the daughter of Wifred Andrew Carmichael Boodle.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Peter Daer Reid, son of Colonel Spence Daer Reid and Dorothy Hungerford Jackson, on 9 August 1958.¹
     From 9 August 1958, her married name became Reid.¹

     Colonel Spence Daer Reid married Dorothy Hungerford Jackson, daughter of Mountstuart Hungerford Jackson and Ethel Beatrice Cowie, on 30 November 1922.¹ He died on 8 February 1954.¹
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Army Medical Corps.²
