He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Stewart [N.S., 1628] on 2 December 1662.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Castle Stuart, of co. Tyrone [I., 1619] on 2 December 1662.1
On his death, his barony became dormant till 1774.1
