     Hon. Horace Somerset Edmond Butler was born on 23 May 1903.¹ He was the son of Charles Ernest Alfred French Somerset Butler, 7th Earl of Carrick and Ellen Rosemond Mary Lindsay.² He married Barbara Hood, daughter of Malcolm Sutherland Jacomb Hood, on 20 June 1928.¹ He died on 26 August 1962 at age 59.¹
     Hon. Horace Somerset Edmond Butler usually went by his middle name of Somerset.² He was awarded the Indian Frontier Medal in 1930.² He held the office of Member of the House of Representatives (M.H.R.) [Burma] between 1938 and 1941.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army Reserve of Officers.¹ He held the office of Honourable Magistrate of Rangoon.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1945.¹

     From 20 June 1928, her married name became Butler.

     Georgina Carolin Eve Butler was born on 22 September 1931.¹ She was the daughter of Hon. Horace Somerset Edmond Butler and Barbara Hood.² She married, firstly, David Goldberg in 1954.¹ She and David Goldberg were divorced in 1961.¹ She married, secondly, Renato Candido Attilio Fratini on 11 October 1961.¹ She and Renato Candido Attilio Fratini were divorced.¹ She married, thirdly, James Alan Short, son of Jack Short, on 7 May 1969.¹ She and James Alan Short were divorced in 1977.³ She died on 25 May 2017 at age 85.³
     Georgina Carolin Eve Butler also went by the nick-name of Gina.² From 1954, her married name became Goldberg. From 11 October 1961, her married name became Fratini. She was a fashion designer.¹ From 7 May 1969, her married name became Short.

     James Alan Short was born on 4 April 1927.² He was the son of Jack Short.³ He married, firstly, Grace Pagan in 1948.² He and Grace Pagan were divorced in 1969.² He married, secondly, Georgina Carolin Eve Butler, daughter of Hon. Horace Somerset Edmond Butler and Barbara Hood, on 7 May 1969.¹ He and Georgina Carolin Eve Butler were divorced in 1977.² He married, thirdly, Pamela Donald in 1985.² He and Pamela Donald were divorced in 1991.² He married, fourthly, Angela Mackenzie in 1992.² He died on 13 April 2001 at age 74.²
     He was an actor.¹ James Alan Short used the stage-name of Jimmy Logan.³ He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1996.² He wrote the book It’s A Funny Life, published 1998.²

     Hon. Guy Somerset Lionel Butler was born on 5 November 1905.¹ He was the son of Charles Ernest Alfred French Somerset Butler, 7th Earl of Carrick and Ellen Rosemond Mary Lindsay.² He married, firstly, Patricia Ann Dunne, daughter of William Alexander Dunne, on 14 June 1939.¹ He and Patricia Ann Dunne were divorced in 1961.¹ He married, secondly, Janet Frances Preston, daughter of Gordon Preston, in 1961.¹ He died in 1983.¹
     He was educated at Tonbridge School, Tonbridge, Kent, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Indian Army Reserve of Officers.² He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Canadian Dragoons.¹
