     Ruth Sophia Joan Gore was born on 9 April 1902.¹ She was the daughter of Leicester Gore and Sophia Harris Mitchell.¹ She married Alexander Moncrieff Coutanche, Baron Coutanche, son of Adolphus Arnold Coutanche and Jane Alexandrina Finlayson, on 23 August 1924.¹ She died on 7 August 1973 at age 71.¹
     From 23 August 1924, her married name became Coutanche.¹ She was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)¹

     Alexander Moncrieff Coutanche, Baron Coutanche was born on 9 May 1892.² He was the son of Adolphus Arnold Coutanche and Jane Alexandrina Finlayson.² He married Ruth Sophia Joan Gore, daughter of Leicester Gore and Sophia Harris Mitchell, on 23 August 1924.³ He died on 18 December 1973 at age 81.¹
     He was educated at Victoria College, Jersey, Channel Islands^G.² He was Advocate of the Royal Court in 1913.² He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1915 entitled to practise as a barrister-at-law.² He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1920, where he was mentioned in dispatches.² He was awarded the Croix de Guerre (Belgian.)² He gained the rank of Staff Captain in 1919.² He held the office of Solicitor-General [Jersey] between 1925 and 1931.² He held the office of Attorney-General [Jersey] between 1931 and 1935.² He held the office of President of the States of Jersey between 1935 and 1961.² He was appointed Knight in 1945.² He was appointed Knight of Grace, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (K.G.St.J.) in 1946.² He held the office of Bailiff of Jersey.² He held the office of Bencher of Middle Temple in 1961.² He was created Baron Coutanche, of St. Brelade in Jersey and of the City of Westminster [U.K. Life Peer] on 11 July 1961.¹

     Millicent Sophia Gore was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick William Gore and Millicent Mundy.¹ She married Percival Hedley Anderson, son of Matthew Wheatley Anderson, on 6 July 1904.¹ She died on 31 March 1966.¹
     From 6 July 1904, her married name became Anderson.¹

     Percival Hedley Anderson was the son of Matthew Wheatley Anderson.¹ He married Millicent Sophia Gore, daughter of Lt.-Col. Frederick William Gore and Millicent Mundy, on 6 July 1904.¹ He died on 20 November 1964.¹

     Matthew Wheatley Anderson lived at Quebec, Canada^G.¹

     Commander Ralph Gore was born in 1786.¹ He was the son of Hon. Paul Gore and Anne Leonard.¹ He married Frances Hay, daughter of Alexander Hay, in 1807.¹ He died in 1859.¹
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹

     Frances Hay was the daughter of Alexander Hay.¹ She married Commander Ralph Gore, son of Hon. Paul Gore and Anne Leonard, in 1807.¹
     From 1807, her married name became Gore.¹

     William John Gore was born in 1810.¹ He was the son of Commander Ralph Gore and Frances Hay.¹ He married Harriet Salmon.¹ He died in 1889.¹
