Sir James Caldwell, 1st Bt.1 
In 1671 he purchased the estate of Wellsborough.1 He gained the rank of Captain of Horse.2 He lived at Castle Caldwell, Templecarne, County Fermanagh, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Fermanagh in 1677.1 He was created 1st Baronet Caldwell, of Wellsburrow, co. Fermanagh [Ireland] on 23 June 1683.1 In 1689 he was attainted by the Irish Parliament of King James II.1 He gained the rank of Colonel of Foot in 1689.2
