Maj.-Gen. Walter Edmund Clutterbuck1 

Maj.-Gen. Walter Edmund Clutterbuck was born on 17 November 1894 at Chippenham, Wiltshire, England.2 He was the son of Edmund Henry Clutterbuck and Madeline Charlotte Raikes.1 He married Gwendoline Atterbury Younger, daughter of Harry George Younger, on 16 October 1919.1 He died on 2 February 1987 at age 92 at Wensleydale, Yorkshire, England.2
He was commissioned in 1913 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Scots Fusiliers.3 He fought in the First World War, in Gallipoli, Egypt, Palestine and South Russia.3 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)3 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)3 He was Commanding Officer of the 1st Battaion, Royal Scots Fusiliers in 1939.3 He fought in the Second World War between 1939 and 1946.3 He was Commanding Officer of the 19th Infantry Brigade in 1940.3 He was GOC of the 1st Infantry Division in 1941.3 He was GOC of the 55th Infantry Division in 1943.3 He was Head of the British Military Mission to Egypt in 1946.3 He lived at Hornby Castle, Bedale, Yorkshire, England.4
