     Andrew Buchanan, 1st of Ardenconnel was born on 12 July 1745.¹ He was the son of Archibald Buchanan, 1st of Auchentorlie and Martha Murdoch.¹ He married Jane Dennistoun, daughter of James Dennistoun, 14th of Colgrain and Janet Baird, on 3 July 1769.¹ He died on 14 July 1833 at age 88.¹
     He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms as of Ardenconnel, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court of Ardenconnel in 1791.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at Ardenconnel, Dunbartonshire, Scotland^G.¹ He lived at Auchingray, Lanarkshire, Scotland^G.¹

     Colonel James Dennistoun, 15th of Colgrain was born circa 1748 at Colgrain, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.¹ He was the son of James Dennistoun, 14th of Colgrain and Janet Baird.¹ He married Margaret Donald, daughter of James Donald, 1st of Geilstoun and Marion Yuille, circa 1777.¹ He married Margaret Dreghorn, daughter of Robert Dreghorn, 1st of Blochairn, on 16 October 1785.¹ He died in 1816.¹

     Jane Dennistoun was born circa 1746 at Colgrain, Dunbartonshire, Scotland.² She was the daughter of James Dennistoun, 14th of Colgrain and Janet Baird.^1,2 She married Andrew Buchanan, 1st of Ardenconnel, son of Archibald Buchanan, 1st of Auchentorlie and Martha Murdoch, on 3 July 1769.¹ She died on 15 September 1832.¹
     From 3 July 1769, her married name became Buchanan.¹

     Archibald Buchanan was born on 13 April 1773.¹ He was the son of Andrew Buchanan, 1st of Ardenconnel and Jane Dennistoun.¹ He married Mary Lyon Dennistoun, daughter of Richard Dennistoun and Christian Calder Alston, on 3 June 1816.¹ He died on 16 December 1832 at age 59.¹

     Richard Dennistoun was born circa 1762.² He was the son of James Dennistoun, 14th of Colgrain and Mary Lyon.² He married Christian Calder Alston on 16 July 1786 at Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.² He died in May 1834 at Kelvin Grove, Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.²
