     Wilfrid Montagu Bruce was born on 26 October 1874.1 He was the son of Reverend Lloyd Stewart Bruce and Jane Skene.1 He married Hon. Dorothy Florence Boot, daughter of Jesse Boot, 1st Baron Trent and Florence Anne Rowe, on 25 November 1913.1 He died on 21 September 1953 at age 78.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy Reserve.1 He was awarded the Reserve Decoration (R.D.)1 He was awarded the Polar Medal in 1913 for the Scott Expedition.1 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1919.1

Jesse Boot, 1st Baron Trent1

     Jesse Boot, 1st Baron Trent was born on 2 June 1850 at Hockley Street, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of John Boot and Mary Wills.2 He married Florence Anne Rowe, daughter of William Rowe, on 31 August 1886.2 He died on 13 June 1931 at age 81.2
     He was founder of Boots Pure Drug Company, chemists.2 He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1909.2 He was created 1st Baronet Boot [U.K.] on 11 January 1917.2 He was created 1st Baron Trent, of Nottingham, co. Nottingham [U.K.] on 18 March 1929.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Hon. Dorothy Florence Boot was the daughter of Jesse Boot, 1st Baron Trent and Florence Anne Rowe.1,2 She married Wilfrid Montagu Bruce, son of Reverend Lloyd Stewart Bruce and Jane Skene, on 25 November 1913.1 She died in 1980.1
     From 25 November 1913, her married name became Bruce.
