Sir William Cunningham Bruce, 9th Bt. was born on 20 September 1825 at Bombay, IndiaG.2 He was the son of William Cunningham Bruce and Jane Catherine Clark.3 He married Charlotte Isabella O’Grady, daughter of Hon. Waller O’Grady and Hon. Grace Elizabeth Massy, on 21 August 1850 at Monkstown, County Dublin, IrelandG.2 He died on 29 May 1906 at age 80.3
He gained the rank of Captain in the 74th Highlanders.3 He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Bruce, of Stenhouse [N.S., 1628] on 14 December 1862.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)3
