     Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington was born on 3 October 1912.¹ He was the son of William Trevor Bruce.¹ He married, firstly, Joan Letitia Butcher, daughter of Hamilton Claude Butcher, in 1939.¹ He and Joan Letitia Butcher were divorced in 1980.¹ He married, secondly, Cyrena Shaw in 1981.¹ He died on 18 April 2005 at age 92.²
     He was educated at Donington Grammar School, Donington, Lincolnshire, England^G.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1942 in the Royal Signals.¹ He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1945 and 1950, to the Minister of Health.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for North Portsmouth between 1945 and 1950.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.) in 1947.¹ He was created Baron Bruce of Donington, of Rickmansworth in the County of Hertfordshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 20 January 1975.¹ He wrote the book The State of the Nation, published 1997, joint author.¹

     Joan Letitia Butcher is the daughter of Hamilton Claude Butcher.¹ She married Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington, son of William Trevor Bruce, in 1939.¹ She and Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington were divorced in 1980.¹
     From 1939, her married name became Bruce.¹ After her marriage, Joan Letitia Butcher was styled as Baroness Bruce of Donington in 1974.

     Hon. Michael Gordon Bruce was born in 1952.¹ He is the son of Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington and Joan Letitia Butcher.¹ He married Sabrina M. C. Mascarenhas on 29 July 1978.²
     He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Economics.)² He was registered as a Associate, Institute of Chartered Accountants (A.C.A.)²

     Hon. Ann Bruce was born in 1942.¹ She is the daughter of Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington and Joan Letitia Butcher.¹ She married T. Samuels.¹
     Her married name became Samuels.¹

     Hon. Mary Trevor Bruce was born in 1945.¹ She was the daughter of Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington and Joan Letitia Butcher.¹ She married Shuhada Hilmi in 1968.¹ She died on 24 December 2004.²
     From 1968, her married name became Hilmi.¹

     Shuhada Hilmi married Hon. Mary Trevor Bruce, daughter of Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington and Joan Letitia Butcher, in 1968.¹

     Cyrena Shaw was born in September 1916.² She married, secondly, Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington, son of William Trevor Bruce, in 1981.¹ She died on 16 August 2016 at age 99.²
     Her married name became Heard.¹ After her marriage, Cyrena Shaw was styled as Baroness Bruce of Donington in 1981. From 1981, her married name became Bruce.¹
