Donald William Trevor Bruce, Baron Bruce of Donington1 
He was educated at Donington Grammar School, Donington, Lincolnshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major in 1942 in the Royal Signals.1 He held the office of Parliamentary Private Secretary between 1945 and 1950, to the Minister of Health.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Labour) for North Portsmouth between 1945 and 1950.1 He was appointed Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants (F.C.A.) in 1947.1 He was created Baron Bruce of Donington, of Rickmansworth in the County of Hertfordshire [U.K. Life Peer] on 20 January 1975.1 He wrote the book The State of the Nation, published 1997, joint author.1
