W. Jacobs, on 29 July 1919 at St. Peter’s Church, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, England^G.⁴ He and Barbara Annis Jacobs were divorced on 1 February 1923 with a decree on nullity.⁴ He married, secondly, Joan Chirnside, daughter of Andrew Chirnside, on 25 October 1932 at Chelsea Old Church, Chelsea, London, England^G.⁴ He married, thirdly, Virginia Sorenson in 1969.⁴ He died on 3 September 1981 at age 83 at Tampa, Florida, U.S.A.^G, after suffering a stroke two weeks earlier.¹
