     Peter Nicholas Broun was born in 1797.1 He was the son of William Broun and Nancy Mainguy.1 He married Caroline Simpson, daughter of James Simpson, on 4 October 1825 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1,2 He died in 1846.1
     He held the office of Colonial Secretary of Swan River.1
     He also had five daughters.1
