     Reverend Richard Broun was baptised on 2 August 1729 at Stitchel, Roxburghshire, Scotland.² He was the son of James Broun and Alison Brodie.¹ He married Robina MacBride, daughter of Colonel Hugh MacBride, on 25 September 1765 at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland.^1,2 He died on 13 December 1781 at age 52.¹
     He was a minister at Lochmaben, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹ He was the minister at Bute, Scotland^G.¹ He was the minister at Kingarth, Scotland^G.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] in 1776, de jure, but never assumed the title.¹

     Robina MacBride was the daughter of Colonel Hugh MacBride.¹ She married Reverend Richard Broun, son of James Broun and Alison Brodie, on 25 September 1765 at Dalry, Ayrshire, Scotland.^1,2 She died on 5 February 1819.¹
     From 25 September 1765, her married name became Broun.¹

     Sir James Broun of Mayfield, 7th Bt. was born on 12 March 1768.¹ He was the son of Reverend Richard Broun and Robina MacBride.¹ He married, firstly, Marion Henderson, daughter of Robert Henderson and Janet Carruthers, on 31 July 1798.¹ He married, secondly, Janet Watson, daughter of Robert Watson, on 29 April 1835.¹ He was also reported to have been married on 30 July 1798 at Lochmaben, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.² He died on 30 November 1844 at age 76 at Moffat, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Broun of Coulston, co. Haddington [N.S., 1686] on 13 December 1781, assuming the title on 19 March 1826 when his claim succeeded.¹ He gained the rank of officer in the 30th Foot, serving ten years in the West Indies during the Caribbean insurrection.¹ In 1799 he raised a troop called the Lockerbie Volunteers.¹ He lived at Coulston Park, Lochmaben, Dumfries-shire, Scotland^G.¹

     Marion Henderson was baptised on 14 April 1768 at Dalton, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.² She was the daughter of Robert Henderson and Janet Carruthers.¹ She married Sir James Broun of Mayfield, 7th Bt., son of Reverend Richard Broun and Robina MacBride, on 31 July 1798.¹ She was also reported to have been married on 30 July 1798 at Lochmaben, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.² She died on 20 August 1825 at age 57, suddenly.¹
     She was also known as May.² From 31 July 1798, her married name became Broun.¹

     Janet Watson was born circa 1784.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Watson.¹ She married Sir James Broun of Mayfield, 7th Bt., son of Reverend Richard Broun and Robina MacBride, on 29 April 1835.¹ She died on 17 June 1868 at Seafield, Leith, Scotland^G.¹
     From 29 April 1835, her married name became Broun.¹
