Sir Edward William Brooksbank, 2nd Bt. was born on 15 June 1915.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward York Brooksbank and Hazel Lynall Thomas.1 He married Ann Clitherow, daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Claud Clitherow, on 21 December 1943. He died on 28 March 1983 at age 67.1,3
Sir Edward William Brooksbank, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of William.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Yorkshire Yeomanry.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Brooksbank, of Healaugh Manor, co. York [U.K., 1919] on 24 November 1943.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1953.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of the East Riding, Yorkshire in 1959.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for the East Riding, Yorkshire in 1962.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Yorkshire in 1967.1
