     Joan Altham was the daughter of Sir Edward Altham and Joan Leventhorpe.¹ She married Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt., son of Sir William Smith and Bridget Fleetwood, before 1633.¹ She died on 15 July 1658.¹ She was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹
     From before 1633, her married name became Smith.¹

     Sir Edward Altham married Joan Leventhorpe, daughter of Sir John Leventhorpe, 1st Bt. and Joan Brograve.
     He lived at Mark Hall, Latton, Essex, England^G.¹

     Joan Leventhorpe is the daughter of Sir John Leventhorpe, 1st Bt. and Joan Brograve.^1,2 She married Sir Edward Altham.
     Her married name became Altham.

     Sir John Leventhorpe, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Leventhorpe and Mary Parker.² He married Joan Brograve, daughter of Sir John Brograve.² He died on 23 September 1625.²
     He lived at Shingley Hall, Hertfordshire, England.² He was created 1st Baronet Leventhorpe.

     James Zouche married Hon. Beatrice Annesley, daughter of Francis Annesley, 1st Viscount of Valentia and Dorothy Philipps.¹ He died in 1643.¹
     He lived at Woking, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Sir Edward Smyth, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 28 September 1637 at Thaxted, Essex, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. and Joan Altham.¹ He married Jane Vandeput, daughter of Peter Vandeput and Jane Hoste, on 6 May 1674.¹ He died on 24 June 1713 at age 75.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 1 July 1713.¹ He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹
     He was admitted to Gray’s Inn on 4 February 1656/57.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 5 May 1668.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Essex from 1680 to 1681.¹ His last will was dated 24 July 1712.

     Jane Vandeput was born circa 1653.¹ She was the daughter of Peter Vandeput and Jane Hoste.¹ She married Sir Edward Smyth, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Thomas Smith, 1st Bt. and Joan Altham, on 6 May 1674.¹ She died on 28 July 1720.¹ She was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹ Her will (dated 5-9 July 1720) was proven (by probate) on 14 February 1720/21.¹
     From 6 May 1674, her married name became Smyth.¹

     Peter Vandeput was born circa 1611.¹ He died on 10 February 1668.¹
     He was a merchant at St. Margaret’s Pattens, London, England^G.¹

     Jane Hoste is the daughter of Theoderick Hoste and Jane Desmastres.¹

     Theodrorus Hoste was the son of Theoderick Hoste and Jane Desmastres.¹ He died from 3 October 1674 to 7 October 1764.¹ His will was proven (by probate) on 7 October 1764.¹
     His last will was dated from 19 July 1673 to 3 October 1674.¹
