     Major Richard Quintin Gurney was born on 4 September 1914.² He was the son of Major Quintin Edward Gurney and Emily Ada Pleasance Ruggles-Brise.^1,3 He married Elisabeth Margaret Boughey, daughter of Reverend Percy Fletcher Boughey and Elsie de Strange Herring, on 26 March 1940.¹ He died on 16 April 1980 at age 65 at Norwich, Norfolk, England^G.^1,2
