     Martha Taverner was born circa 1556 at North Elmham, Norfolk, England^G.² She is the daughter of Richard Taverner and Margaret Lambert.^1,2 She married George Caulfeild, son of Alexander Caulfeild, circa 1576.²

     Richard Taverner married, firstly, Margaret Lambert, daughter of Walter Lambert.² He married, secondly, Mary Harcourt, daughter of Sir John Harcourt.²
     He lived at Wood Eaton, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)² He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Liverpool.²

     Alexander Caulfeild was born circa 1520.² He died circa 1581.²
     He was also known as Alexander Calfhill.² In 1566 he took a 21–year lease over the manor of Great Milton (now the restaurant/hotel Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons.)² He lived at Great Milton, Oxfordshire, England^G.²

     Sir Richard Grosvenor, 1st Bt. was born on 9 January 1584/85.¹ He was the son of Richard Grosvenor and Christiana Brooke.¹ He married, firstly, Lettice Cholmondeley, daughter of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Holford.² He married, secondly, Elizabeth Wilbraham, daughter of Sir Thomas Wilbraham, in 1614.³ He married, thirdly, Elizabeth Warburton, daughter of Sir Peter Warburton, after 1621.³ He died on 14 September 1645 at age 60.¹
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)³ He was appointed Knight.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Cheshire between 1621 and 1629.³ He was created 1st Baronet Grosvenor, of Eaton, co. Chester [England] on 23 February 1621/22.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1623.³ He held the office of High Sheriff of Denbighshire in 1624.³

     Richard Grosvenor was the son of Thomas Grosvenor and Anne Bradshaigh.² He married Christiana Brooke, daughter of Richard Brooke and Christiana Carew.¹ He died on 18 September 1619.²
     He lived at Eaton, Cheshire, England.² He held the office of High Sheriff of Cheshire in 1602.²

     Christiana Brooke was the daughter of Richard Brooke and Christiana Carew.¹ She married Richard Grosvenor, son of Thomas Grosvenor and Anne Bradshaigh.¹
     Her married name became Grosvenor.¹

     Sir Richard Brooke held the office of Chief Baron of the Exchequer.² He resigned as at Norton, Cheshire, England.³

     Lettice Cholmondeley was born in 1585. She was the daughter of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Mary Holford.¹ She married Sir Richard Grosvenor, 1st Bt., son of Richard Grosvenor and Christiana Brooke.¹ She died circa 17 January 1611/12.^1,3 She was buried on 20 January 1611/12.³
     Her married name became Grosvenor.¹

     Sir Hugh Cholmondeley was born in 1513.² He was the son of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Anne Dorman.³ He married Mary Holford, daughter of Christopher Holford.¹ He died on 23 July 1601.³
     He lived at Cholmondeley, Cheshire, England^G.³
     He had four other sons and two other daughters.⁴ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²
     

     Mary Holford was baptised on 20 January 1562/63 at Nether-Peover, Cheshire, England^G.² She was the daughter of Christopher Holford.¹ She married Sir Hugh Cholmondeley, son of Sir Hugh Cholmondeley and Anne Dorman.¹ She died on 15 August 1626 at age 63.^3,2
     Her married name became Cholmondeley.¹ She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.²
