He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bonham [U.K., 1852] on 8 October 1863.1 He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was in the Diplomatic Service between 1869 and 1890.1 He was Secretary of the Legation to Lisbon between 1885 and 1890.1 He was Secretary of the Legation to The Hague between 1890 and 1893.2 He was Secretary of the Embassy to Madrid between 1893 and 1897.2 He was Secretary of the Embassy to Rome between 1897 and 1899.2 He was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Belgrade between 1900 and 1903.2 He was Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary to Berne between 1905 and 1909.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1
