John Phillip William Adams1
Reference: ‘WILLIE.1‘ He was Labourer.1 ‘ My Father was born on Norfolk Island, a direct descendant of the
‘mutiny on the bounty’ – he left the island, a boy of 19 to serve
in the 1st World War. It broke his mothers heart and she died soon
after. He never returned, ever – but my Mum [Thelma Pearce] who had
a nervous breakdown after the still birth of twins, was sent to the
island to recover. She took with her the two youngest at that time,
Keith and Arthur. Keith caught whooping cough and died and was buried
on the island. On our visit to the island we tried to trace Dads
family. His last remaining brother ‘Brassy’ died in 1958. We found
Dads name on the war memorial & in the RSL. Dad died in 1947. How
sad we didn’t know to contact his brother.1‘
