     Azzo VII d’Este, Marchese d’Este also went by the nick-name of Azzo ‘the Younger’.1 He succeeded as the Marchese d’Este in 1215.1 He succeeded as the Podestà di Ferrara in 1215.1 He gained the title of Podesta di Mantua in 1253.2

     Azzo VI, Marchese d’Este was born in 1170 at Ferrara, Italy.2 He was the son of Azzo V d‘Este and Marchesella Adelardi.2 He married Alix de Châtillon, daughter of Renaud de Châtillon, Prince of Antioch and Etiennette de Milly, in 1204.3 He died in December 1212 at Verona, Italy.1
     He gained the title of Marchese d’Este.1 He was created Podestà di Ferrara in 1196.1
