Sidney Herbert Christian was born on 7 January 1898 at Norfolk IslandG.1 He was the son of Ernest Ford Christian and Louisa Florence Buffett.1 He married Ena (?) in 1924 at New ZealandG.1 He died in December 1987 at age 89 at Devonport, Auckland, New ZealandG.1
Sidney Herbert Christian also went by the nick-name of Sid. He fought in the First World War, and was wounded at Messines (1917) and again at Kemmel (1918.)2 He gained the rank of Private on 13 April 1916 in the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, He is believed to have been the last surviving Norfolk World War I veteran.1
