Clive Edgar Chapman1 
He was raised by his grandmother, Blanche Buffett Nobbs. After starting out
as a groundskeeper at Government House, he was employed for many years as a
linesman with the Sydney City Council’s Telephone and Telegraph Branch. He
was a talented musician, playing the guitar, pedal steel and hawaiian, and
used his knowledge of electronics to customize his instruments. He also
excelled in woodcarving and lathe work. He returned to Norfolk after
retirement.1

Steele Buffett1 
Steele Buffett was born on 10 December 1882 at Norfolk IslandG.1 He was the son of Fortescue Moresby Buffett and Emma Quintal Buffett.1 He married Emily Mildred Nobbs, daughter of Reverend George Rawdon ffrench Nobbs and Emily Harriett Capron, on 13 February 1917 at All Saints Church, Kingston, Norfolk IslandG.2 He died on 4 November 1947 at age 64 at Concord, New South Wales, Australia.3
He fought in the First World War between 1917 and 1919.1 He gained the rank of Private on 22 February 1917 in the 7th Light Horse Regiment, Australian Imperial Force.2 He gained the rank of Private between 1941 and 1944 in the Z Special Unit, Australian Army.4
