     Commander Thomas Hompesch Christian was born circa 1810.¹ He was the son of Rear-Admiral Hood Hanway Christian and Harriet Shute.¹ He died on 6 January 1858 at Ryde, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹ He was buried at Northwood, Cowes, Isle of Wight, England^G.¹
     He was commissioned on 20 December 1824, in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Additional Lieutenant on 14 August 1839, serving on board H.M.S. Princess Charlotte.¹ He fought in the siege of Acre in 1840, for which he received a medal for distinguished service.¹ He gained the rank of Commander on 9 November 1846.¹

     George Jackson Christian was born in 1821.¹ He was the son of Rear-Admiral Hood Hanway Christian and Harriet Shute.¹ He married Sophia Raikes, daughter of Charles Raikes and Sophia Matthews, at Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He died on 3 June 1857 at India^G, killed in the Indian Mutiny.¹
     He was with the Honourable East India Company Service in 1844.² He was Magistrate and Commissioner at Seetapore, India^G.¹

     Sophia Raikes was born in 1835.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Raikes and Sophia Matthews.¹ She married George Jackson Christian, son of Rear-Admiral Hood Hanway Christian and Harriet Shute, at Salisbury Cathedral, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ She died on 3 June 1857 at India^G, killed in the Indian Mutiny.¹
     Her married name became Christian.¹

     Charles Raikes married Sophia Matthews, daughter of Colonel unknown Matthews.¹
     He held the office of Commissioner of Lahore.¹ He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.)² He held the office of Judge of the Sudder Court at Agra.¹

     Sophia Christian was the daughter of George Jackson Christian and Sophia Raikes.¹ She died on 24 November 1857 at Lucknow, India^G, in prison, ‘kindly tended by Miss Orr and Miss Jackson, who were later rescued’.¹
