     Nigel Cyprian Bridge, Baron Bridge of Harwich was born on 26 February 1917.¹ He was the son of Commander Cyprian Dunscomb Charles Bridge.¹ He married Margaret Swinbank, daughter of Leonard Heseltine Swinbank, in 1944.¹ He died on 20 November 2007 at age 90.²
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps.¹ He fought in the Second World War, serving in Italy, France and Germany.¹ He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1947 entitled to practise as a Barrister-at-Law.¹ He held the office of Bencher of the Inner Temple in 1964.¹ He was Junior Counsel of the Treasury between 1964 and 1968.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1968.¹ He held the office of High Court Judge of the Queen’s Bench between 1968 and 1975.¹ He held the office of Presiding Judge of the Western Circuit between 1972 and 1974.¹ He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1975.¹ He held the office of Lord Justice of Appeal between 1975 and 1980.¹ He was member of the Securities Commission between 1977 and 1982.¹ He was created Baron Bridge of Harwich, of Harwich in the County of Essex [U.K. Law Lord] in 1980.¹ He held the office of Lord of Appeal in Ordinary between 1980 and 1992.¹ He was chairman of the Securities Commission between 1982 and 1985.¹ He held the office of Treasurer of the Inner Temple in 1986.¹

     Margaret Swinbank is the daughter of Leonard Heseltine Swinbank.¹ She married Nigel Cyprian Bridge, Baron Bridge of Harwich, son of Commander Cyprian Dunscomb Charles Bridge, in 1944.¹
     From 1944, her married name became Bridge.¹ After her marriage, Margaret Swinbank was styled as Baroness Bridge of Harwich in 1980.

     Leonard Heseltine Swinbank lived at Weybridge, Surrey, England^G.¹

     Hon. Charles Cyprian Bridge was born in 1951.¹ He is the son of Nigel Cyprian Bridge, Baron Bridge of Harwich and Margaret Swinbank.¹ He married Sheila Marie Street in 1971.¹

     Hon. Rachel Ann Bridge was born in 1946.¹ She is the daughter of Nigel Cyprian Bridge, Baron Bridge of Harwich and Margaret Swinbank.¹ She married Martin Pick in 1975.¹
