     John Matthew Galwey was born circa 1790.¹ He was the son of William Galwey and Mary Byrne.¹ He married Ann Barron, daughter of Pierce Barron, on 24 November 1813.¹ He died on 25 March 1842.¹
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for County Waterford.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Waterford between 1832 and 1834.¹ He was agent for Lords Dartrey and Donoughmore.¹ He lived at Duckspool, County Waterford, Ireland^G.¹

     Ann Barron is the daughter of Pierce Barron.¹ She married John Matthew Galwey, son of William Galwey and Mary Byrne, on 24 November 1813.¹
     From 24 November 1813, her married name became Galwey.¹
