Willielma Maxwell was born posthumously circa 1743.1 She was the daughter of William Maxwell of Preston and Elizabeth Hairstanes.1,3 She married John Campbell, Lord Glenorchy, son of John Campbell, 3rd Earl of Breadalbane and Holland and Arabella Pershall, on 26 September 1761 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.1 She died on 17 July 1786 at St. George’s Square, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG, without surviving issue.1 She was buried at Chapel, St. George’s Square, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 Her will was proven (by probate) on 1 June 1787.1
From 26 September 1761, her married name became Campbell.1 She has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.4
