     Eleanor de Segrave was born in 1270.² She was the daughter of Nicholas de Segrave, 1st Lord Segrave and Matilda de Lucy.^1,2 She married Alan la Zouche, 1st Lord Zouche, son of Roger la Zouche and Ela de Longespée.¹ She died in 1314.²

     Nicholas de Segrave, 1st Lord Segrave was born circa 1238.² He was the son of Gilbert de Segrave and Amabil de Chaucombe.² He married Matilda de Lucy, daughter of Sir Thomas de Lucy. He died before 12 November 1295.²
     He was appointed Knight on 1 August 1263.² In April 1264 he laid siege to Rochester, along with other nobles opposed to King Henry III.² He fought in the Battle of Lewes on 14 May 1264, in command of the London contingent.² He fought in the Battle of Evesham in 1265, where he was wounded and captured.² Between 1276 and 1283 he was called up for military service against the Welsh.² In 1283 he attended the meeting at Shrewsbury, deemed by the House of Lords in 1877 to have been a Parliament, but now thought to be a flawed decision.² He was created 1st Lord Segrave [England by writ] on 24 June 1295.¹

     Matilda de Lucy is the daughter of Sir Thomas de Lucy.² She married Nicholas de Segrave, 1st Lord Segrave, son of Gilbert de Segrave and Amabil de Chaucombe.
