     Admiral Sir Richard Hussey-Bickerton, 2nd Bt. was born on 11 October 1759 at Southampton, Hampshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Vice-Admiral Sir Richard Bickerton, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Hussey.¹ He married Anne Athill, daughter of James Athill, on 25 September 1792 at Antigua^G.¹ He died on 9 February 1832 at age 72 at The Circus, Bath, Somerset, England^G, without issue.¹ He was buried on 16 February 1832 at Bath Abbey, Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in August 1832.¹
     He was given the name of Richard Bickerton at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Cadet in 1771 in the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1777.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in 1779.¹ He gained the rank of action off Martinique on 29 May 1781.¹ He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Bickerton [G.B., 1778] on 25 February 1792.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral in 1799.¹ He was awarded the Order of the Crescent of Turkey on 8 October 1801.¹ Between 1804 and 1805 he was second in command under Nelson.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Poole between 1807 and 1812.¹ He gained the rank of Admiral in 1810.¹ He was Commander-in-Chief of the Portsmouth between 1812 and 1814.¹ He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) on 2 January 1815.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-General in 1818 in the Marines.¹ He was appointed Fellow, Royal Society (F.R.S.)¹ On 16 May 1823 his name was legally changed to Richard Hussey-Bickerton by Royal Licence.¹ He gained the rank of General in June 1830 in the Marines.¹ He lived at Upwood, Huntingdonshire, England^G.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Anne Athill was born circa 1769.¹ She was the daughter of James Athill.¹ She married Admiral Sir Richard Hussey-Bickerton, 2nd Bt., son of Vice-Admiral Sir Richard Bickerton, 1st Bt. and Mary Anne Hussey, on 25 September 1792 at Antigua^G.¹ She died on 2 March 1850 at Bath, Somerset, England^G.¹ Her will was proven (by probate) in April 1850.¹
     From 25 September 1792, her married name became Hussey-Bickerton.¹

     James Athill lived at Antigua^G.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹

     Sir Francis Bickley, 1st Bt. was born circa 1582.¹ He was the son of Francis Bickley and Amy Major.¹ He married Mary Parsons, daughter of Richard Parsons, before 1615.¹ He died on 11 August 1670.¹
     He was a draper at London, England^G.¹ In 1653 he purchased Attleborough Hall.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Bickley, of Attilborough, co. Norfolk [England] on 3 September 1661.¹

     Francis Bickley lived at Lolworth, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹

     Amy Major lived at Huntingdonshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Parsons was the daughter of Richard Parsons.¹ She married Sir Francis Bickley, 1st Bt., son of Francis Bickley and Amy Major, before 1615.¹ She died after 1634.¹
     From before 1615, her married name became Bickley.¹
